We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Lead Software Engineer ( Market Place) to join our growing team. We want a team player who is driven and willing to learn to accompany us on our mission of playing a vital role in the digital transformation sweeping the MENA region.

As a Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and developing new features for company products, and APIs and will also work closely with many other team members to build products with high standards. Software Web Developer will be responsible for designing, constructing, testing, and supporting websites and mobile applications in addition to server infrastructure.

The Job – Lead Software Engineer (Market Place)

What you'll be doing:

• Work closely with the Engineering Manager to determine the company’s strategic direction, development, and future growth.
•  Evaluate, manage, develop, recruit, and retain technical talent - deliver a scalable organization by evaluating existing talent and developing leaders, leveraging technologies, and increasing resource capacity.
•  Be both an engineer and a communicator. As a strategic thinker who is responsible for understanding the relationship between the company’s technology and the outside world.
•  Document clearly technical opportunities, constraints, recommendations, and action items, and effectively communicate this content both verbally and in writing in a way that both technical and non-technical audiences will clearly and easily understand.
•    Stay informed of the latest technology trends, standards, and best practices, as well as emerging technologies and products and services that have the potential to impact the company and the customers it serves.
•     On an ongoing basis evaluate the technical needs of the company, research and propose solutions, and in collaboration with other key technical professionals’ design new solutions as necessary.

Who you are:

•  Proven 5+ years of experience as a software developer.
• Proven 1+ years of managing teams.
• Proven experience in API and Integration Development.
•  Experience with Rails. A high level of proficiency and in-depth knowledge of Ruby and Rails is a plus.
• Experience with relational database systems (like PostgreSQL or MySQL). Ability to architect new schemas, as well as maintain and improve the performance of existing ones.
• Experience with frontend technologies: HTML, DOM, JS, CSS, React, and Backbone.
•  Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) and deployment tools (like Capistrano, Jenkins, Chef)
• Experience with search engines: Lucene, Elastic Search, Apache Solar.
• Software as a Service Experience.
• A rock-solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Git-based workflow including Continuous Integration.
•    Exhibit excellent judgment.
•   Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices and mentoring other team members.
• Ability to dive deep and is never out of touch with the details of the business.
