Main purpose of the job:
The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing warehouse operations across different specialized warehouses. The role requires a deep understanding of inventory management, logistics, and specialized storage techniques to ensure the efficient handling of goods related to media production and filming, lighting and screens, and carpentry and stage decor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
o Maintain accurate records of all inventories within the assigned warehouse, including incoming and outgoing shipments, stock levels, and discrepancies.
o Perform regular inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and stock availability.
o Ensure that all inventory is stored properly, according to safety and quality standards, and is easily accessible when needed.
2. Warehouse Operations:
o Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
o Optimize warehouse layout and storage methods to maximize space utilization and improve efficiency.
o Handle specialized tasks related to the specific focus of each warehouse, such as managing sensitive filming equipment, lighting gear, or carpentry tools and materials.
3. Order Fulfillment:
o Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders, whether for production shoots, stage setups, or other projects.
o Prepare and dispatch orders efficiently, ensuring that all documentation is completed accurately.
4. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure that all warehouse operations comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
o Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain a safe working environment.
5. Training and Mentoring:
o Provide training and guidance to junior warehouse staff, ensuring that they understand and follow best practices.
o Serve as a point of contact for troubleshooting and problem-solving within the warehouse.
6. Collaboration:
o Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and other Warehouse Specialists to ensure smooth coordination between different warehouses.
o Assist in cross-functional tasks and provide support to other warehouses when needed.
7. Reporting:
o Generate regular reports on inventory levels, warehouse performance, and any issues that arise.
o Provide insights and recommendations to the Warehouse Supervisor for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
o Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with a focus on specialized inventory management.
o Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and warehouse operations.
o Ability to handle specialized equipment and materials, such as lighting, Screens equipment, or carpentry tools.
o Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
o Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
o Good communication and teamwork skills.
o Any relevant certifications in warehousing or logistics are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
o Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed.
o Comfortable working in a warehouse environment that may involve standing, walking, and operating handling machinery.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
o Accuracy of inventory records and stock levels in relation to the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
o Timeliness and accuracy of order fulfillment.
o Efficiency in warehouse space utilization.
o Compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Working Conditions:
o The Warehouse Specialist will be based in one of the Mufeed subsidiaries warehouses but may be required to support other warehouses as needed. The role involves a mix of physical work and administrative duties, with a focus on ensuring smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
