Role Description:
1. Monitoring the procedures put in place by the Controller related to Data protection and documenting their compliance with the provisions of this law and related legislations.
2. Ensuring the execution of periodic assessments and reviews of database systems, data processing systems, and systems for maintaining the security, safety, and protection of data, and documenting the assessment
results and issuing necessary recommendations for data protection, and monitoring the implementation of these recommendations.
3. Acting as a direct liaison with The Unit and other security and judicial authorities regarding compliance with the provisions of this law.
4. Developing internal instructions for receiving and studying complaints, Data access requests, requests for correction, erasure, hiding, or transfer of Data, and ensuring that such access is provided to the Data Subject
in accordance with the provisions of the law.
5. Enabling the Data Subject to exercise their rights as provided in this law.
6. Organizing necessary training programs for the staff of the Controller and Processors to equip them to handle Data in line with the requirements of this law and the regulations and instructions issued accordingly.
7. Any other tasks or responsibilities assigned to the Data Protection Officer in accordance with the provisions of this law and the regulations and instructions issued pursuant to it.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Relevant experience in data protection, supported by:
- Practical working experience in security, compliance, legal, risk management or data management;
- Demonstrable understanding of the data protection regulatory environment that applies to the Bank;
- Relevant knowledge of information security and information technology risk.
- Must demonstrate awareness of changes to the threat landscape and fully comprehend how merging technologies will impact the management and protection of personal data.
- Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm.
- Very Good written & verbal English language.
- Knowledge of PC applications, including MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Information Technology, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
- Hold at least one data protection and/or privacy certification, such as:
- CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional),
- CIPT (Certified Information Privacy Technologist),
Experience:
- 3-5 years Data Protection experience (direct experience working on data protection as part of his/her role)
- 8-10 years Banking Experience (preferred)
