Position Overview

The Discounters Sales Supervisor oversees sales operations, in‑store execution, and collection performance within the discount channel. The role ensures sales targets, visibility standards, and collection KPIs are achieved while maintaining strong customer relationships and leading the field team.


Key Responsibilities


1. Sales Performance & Target Achievement

• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the discounter channel.

• Monitor sell-in and sell-out performance and implement corrective actions.

• Identify growth opportunities and expand product penetration across accounts.


2. Collection & Financial Control

• Ensure timely collection of outstanding payments from discounter customers.

• Follow up on overdue invoices and resolve discrepancies with customers and finance teams.

• Maintain accurate documentation for collections, credit notes, and reconciliations.

• Monitor customer credit limits and ensure compliance with company credit policies.

• Reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and improve cash flow performance.


3. Account Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key discounter buyers and store managers.

• Negotiate promotions, pricing, and visibility agreements within company guidelines.

• Ensure product availability, timely replenishment, and proper SKU listing.


4. Market Execution

• Guarantee perfect in-store execution: planograms, pricing, stock levels, and visibility.

• Conduct regular market visits to evaluate store performance and competitor activity.

• Lead merchandisers to maintain high-quality displays and FIFO standards.


5. Team Leadership

• Supervise, train, and motivate the sales team.

• Set daily/weekly priorities and ensure execution of trade activities.

• Evaluate team performance and provide coaching for improvement.


6. Trade Marketing & Promotions

• Implement trade promotions and ensure compliance with promotional plans.

• Track promotion performance and provide insights for future planning.

• Coordinate with marketing teams for proper POSM deployment.


7. Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare weekly and monthly sales, collection, and market execution reports.

• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback.

• Recommend actions to improve sales, collection efficiency, and market share.


Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

• 3–5 years of FMCG sales experience, preferably in discounters or wholesale channels.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and collection follow-up skills.

• Ability to lead teams and manage field operations.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

• Valid driving license and willingness to travel frequently.
