Job
Purpose:
The Marketing Manager
is responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of marketing
strategies, in line with the company’s strategic goals. He/she outline the standards, policy and
procedure and identifies enhancements and best practices that will improve
business and support future business needs. He/she plans, directs, and manages
activities and operations of the marketing and is also responsible for administering
the marketing budget. He/she will be the decision maker for various campaign
and promotional programs that includes advertising, sponsorship, planning,
public or media relations, distribution, promotion, research, product development
and sales analysis after getting the General Manager’s approval
Duties
& Responsibilities:
Developing
opportunities for advertising that involves advertising in regional, national,
and special publications
Develop
marketing strategy in support of the company’s mission and core objectives.
Develop an
annual business plan and operating budget for the department and monitor the
implementation of these to ensure that the financial targets are met.
Overseeing the
implementation of marketing research, brand awareness, customer surveys, and
analysis of demands of the customers.
Assess
customer needs to understand what improvements they require in our products and
/ or services.
Overseeing
and approving activities concerning media such as publicity and press releases.
Direct,
control and motivate the staff of the Marketing department.
Accountable
for the management, mentoring and career development of all Marketing and Sales
staff.
Define and
seek approval for the level of resources required to meet goals and priorities
and schedule major projects.
Direct the
preparation and implementation of policies, procedures and standards relating
to marketing, budgeting, campaign management, corporate communication and marketing
research / sales
Direct,
attend and participate in staff meetings and related activities; attend
workshops to keep up to date with latest marketing issues
Building
strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders such as creative agencies,
media agencies, PR agencies, printing agencies, etc.
Managing
marketing material production, include leaflets, flyers and posters. This
involves proof reading and writing, liaising with printing and designing
agencies
Implementing
marketing research, brand awareness, customer surveys, and analyze demands of
the customers
Securing
sponsorship and advertising strategies
Deciding on
product and market pricings
Developing
and contributing to long-term marketing plans and strategies
Managing writing
and distribution of press releases
Defining
monitoring and controlling measures for campaign management
Directing the
training, hiring and performance evaluation programs of marketing staff.

Marketing
budget – % variation in actual marketing expenses compared to marketing budget
New product
launch - % variation in actual sales vs. projected sales
Campaign
launch – Average delay in launch of the campaign
Campaign
impact – % variation in sales compared to pre-campaign sales and projected
sales
Skills/Qualifications:
A Master’s or
Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field, for example in marketing, economics or
mathematics is required.
Proven senior
Marketing Management experience.
A proven
track record of driving and defining successful marketing strategies.
Deep
understanding and experience in building a brand and protecting its image
Knowledge of
latest technologies and tools used in marketing and enforcing their effective
implementation
A broad
understanding of marketing concepts, product development, and promotional
programs including campaign management and advertising.
In depth
experience of negotiating with and managing third parties
Excellent
communication, leadership and collaboration skills
Possesses excellent
project management skills
Advanced
decision making and problem solving skills
Business
acumen, knowledge and professionalism.
A sharp mind
is required to be able to decide which strategy will further a company’s goals
and how to implement the same.
Ability to
adapt quickly and integrate ever changing market and customer trends with the
company’s goals.
Good written
and verbal skills to be able to effectively communicate internally and externally
the impact of adopting a new product.
