Terre des hommes - Lausanne is seeking a qualified Psychologist based in Bekaa (Baalbek and Hermel districts).
Job Purpose / Main Functions:
• Provide MHPSS to children exposed to, or at risk of, child protection concerns, and set up activities that contribute to the growth and development of children and their families in the CDCs and other child-friendly and safe spaces in Baalbek and Hermel.
• Provide family therapy to parents and caregivers of children exposed to, or at risk of, child protection concerns.
• Ensure that Tdh’s strategy and policies are implemented in their field of work.
• Conduct individual and group support sessions for CP cases and their caregivers, as relevant.
• Rove between static CDCs and mobile centers in Baalbek / Hermel, report to the Protection Manager, and ensure referrals of cases requiring additional services to the relevant focal points.
• Provide one-to-one psychological counselling.
• Maintain a solid understanding of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Guidelines on MHPSS and the IASC intervention pyramid, ensuring alignment with a multi-layered service approach.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Provision of psychosocial support:
• Provide MHPSS activities to children exposed to, or at risk of, CP.
• Provide family therapy to children exposed to, or at risk of, CP.
• Oversee case management assessments to ensure qualitative reporting and analysis on a case-by-case basis, ensuring that action plans developed with children align with protection principles.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services provided to children to support quality monitoring and effective project management, while maintaining strict confidentiality of their identifying information.
• Actively participate in weekly team meetings to contribute to project planning and effective implementation.
Psychological counseling activities for the beneficiaries:
• Set up effective methodological tools for the psychological assessment of children, taking into account the contextual factors.
• Assess and report serious cases that require specific actions or responses.
• Ensure appropriate and relevant referrals in line with existing referral pathways.
• Support facilitators in organizing and running dedicated activities for children, taking into account their needs (recreational and sports activities, integration activities, family and community mediation, socialization of children with specific needs, etc.).
• Participate in and provide technical support for formulating sensitive themes and support strategies for children exposed to, or at risk of, CP.
• Provide targeted and focused psychological consultations for more severe cases.
• Participate in training activities.
• Provide supervision to trained FPSS facilitators.
Data management and reporting:
• Manage, file, and store data while ensuring the confidentiality of all collected information and services provided.
• Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation exercises, when required, to assess project outcomes and impacts, and report any challenges encountered during project implementation.
• Share and, when necessary, develop planning, monitoring, and evaluation tools that can be adapted to different projects.
• Contribute to the preparation of internal and external reports, as required.
• Prepare monthly and annual activity reports.
• Provide analysis and follow-up on the outcomes of intervention activities, offering suggestions for adjustments when necessary.
• Participate in data collection and reporting.
Coordination and representation:
• Establish and maintain an updated service mapping, ensuring regular and relevant follow-up with all actors in the area of intervention.
• Coordinate with other service providers to ensure individuals’ access to necessary services.
• Support timely information sharing regarding challenges and needs at the field level.
Representation/ Networking:
• Identify positive and innovative practices in the field and share them with peers and line manager.
• Ensure that a positive and professional image of the Foundation is consistently conveyed, and that its mandate, ethics, values, and principles are upheld in all interactions with external parties.
• Represent Tdh at strategic meetings within their field of intervention.
• Collaborate with government structures and other key actors involved in the field of intervention.
• Initiate and develop a strong network with other NGOs operating in the same area of activity.
Collaboration with Management:
• Communicate and collaborate in accordance with the communication contract and contribute to its implementation.
• Maintain regular information exchange with the line manager and support the dissemination of information through established communication channels.
• Participate in technical management meetings.
• Work with the project team to develop an outreach strategy and clear internal and external referral pathways, and propose improvements within their field of activity.
Administration / logistics and recovery services:
• Carry out all administrative activities relevant to their role.
• Adhere to and ensure compliance with current administrative and logistical regulations and procedures.
Organisational Policies:
• Adhere to Tdh’s Global Code of Conduct (GCD), Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Policy, and Gender and Diversity Policy and its principles of child protection, ensuring these principles are upheld and promptly notifying the CSP/PSEA Focal Point of any potential breaches.
• Remain aware of, comply with, and promote the practices and values outlined in all other Tdh policies and procedures, including Internal Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, and related policies.
• Actively participate in weekly and monthly coordination meetings with the line manager.
• Ensure that Do No Harm analyses are conducted and that the Do No Harm principle is upheld in all FPSS Facilitator engagements.
• Report any breaches observed in the framework of this policy during professional activities, including both proven or suspected offenses and potential preventive breaches.
Other:
• Provide support to other teams and to the line manager as needed.
• Perform any other duties requested by the line manager that are aligned with the role and its responsibilities.
• Must be available to respond to emergencies and provide psychological support in urgent situations. Due to the nature of the role, flexibility in working hours and locations is required to adapt to emergency contexts and evolving needs.
Job Requirements:
• Academic Background:
o Degree in Psychology or Counselling, with a focus on Psychotherapy, Clinical, and/or Counselling Psychology.
o Experience working with children and youth.
o Master’s degree (MA) in Clinical Psychology.
o Completion of a clinical training/practicum at a university center, including at least 100 hours of supervised training and 300 hours of applied training.
• Required Certifications:
o Lebanese Colloquium Certificate for Clinical Psychologists.
o License to practice Clinical Psychology from the Ministry of Public Health.
• Preferred:
o A letter of recommendation from a senior clinical psychologist supervisor (holder of a doctorate and/or recognized scholar).
o Membership in one of the registered psychological associations in Lebanon.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in an NGO or relevant work in psychosocial support/psychology, including clinical and/or direct practice settings.
o Experience in clinical supervision, training, and/or coaching of staff.
o Experience in assessment processes, program design, evaluation, technical training, and supervision.
o Solid understanding of protection principles, case management, and survivor-centered care in humanitarian settings.
• Professional Competencies:
o Fully understands the strategic plans, operational plans, and logical frameworks of different projects. Demonstrates strong listening skills, flexibility, self-control, analytical thinking, and reasoning in various situations. Maintains confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, and ensures the safety of beneficiaries at all times.

o Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment.
o Ability to provide structured clinical assessments and clear case formulations.
o Ability to identify mental health priority conditions in line with the mhGAP guidelines.
o Proficient in using standardized assessment tools.
• Management Skills:
o Ability to develop consistent and effective treatment plans with clear objectives.
o Skilled in at least one evidence-based psychotherapy approach.
o Proficient in using various relaxation and stress management techniques.
o Capable of monitoring and evaluating clients’ psychological progress.
o Experience in providing clinical supervision or leading trainings is an advantage.

o Mental health in complex emergencies (IASC guidelines, Psychological First Aid, mhGAP).
