Terre des hommes - Lausanne is seeking One qualified CP Caseworker based in South for one of its projects in the Palestinian Camps.


Job description:

The case worker acts with the children, families and their social environment through a global approach in order to:

• Provide individual case management for children and youth identified as high-risk or affected by armed conflict, in line with relevant guidance and procedures.

• Provide ongoing support to families and caregivers, foster and alternative care systems.

• Directly communicate effectively with other caseworkers and service providers as part of conducting individual case management.

The case worker helps to create conditions for children and their families to have the means to be active in their own development and to strengthen the social links and solidarity where they live but also to enhance their resilience



Main responsibilities :


Case Management

• Identify children at high risk or affected by armed conflict and provide support in line with reintegration case management and project requirements.

• Develop, implement, and monitor case plans according to organizational SOPs and guidance, prioritizing the best interest of the child.

• Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure access to services and progress on case plans.

• Facilitate referrals and coordinate with service providers for comprehensive support.

• Participate in case conferences for complex cases to ensure multidisciplinary support.

• Ensure all interactions follow Do No Harm principles and are trauma-informed and culturally sensitive.


Coordination with other teams and services

• Maintain effective communication with other caseworkers, protection teams, NGOs, and community-based organizations.

• Conduct and update service mapping and referral pathways in coordination with supervisors.

• Advocate for children’s rights and coordinate referrals according to their best interests.


Resource management, data management, and reporting

• Ensure proper record keeping of cases, ensuring confidentiality, and ensure that data collected is received and recorded by the data management staff in a timely and accurate manner.

• Identify logistic and admin support needs related to the case management activities and communicates these to the relevant log/admin support person, with the knowledge of his/her supervisor.

• Ensure appropriate management and storage of program material, equipment, information.

• Regularly provide field reports, protection monitoring reports and reports related to project progress to your line manager.


Problem-solving and teamwork

• Contribute to the management of programme activities, according to the strategies communicated by line managers and the overall programme manager, in order to reach programme objectives

• Develop common priority actions leading to solutions to the identified problems

• Identify the problems associated with the delivery of the programme and inform line manager, HR, logistics, beneficiaries in accordance with line manager’s orientations

• Attend and take part in the meetings necessary for passing on information for the smooth running of activities

• Attend relevant trainings on Protection, Child Protection, Case Management, and others, in accordance with the line management.


Networking / external coordination

• Maintain liaison with NGOs and community-based organizations at the community level to ensure their cooperation and coordination for effective implementation of the programme in the areas.

• Ensure that a positive and professional image of Tdh is conveyed. In particular, ensure that Tdh’s mandate, thematic policies, ethics, values and views are followed in relation to third parties.



Required Competencies:

• Fluency in Arabic and Professional level of English Language skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (social work, psychology, education, social sciences, etc.).

• At least two years of Previous NGO experience, and especially case management experience, is required. Experience working with high-risk children and children affected by armed conflict.

• Exceptional knowledge in Child Protection is required.

• The ability to communicate effectively with children and adults, local authorities and other partners, and express oneself in a clear and concise way.

• Good knowledge of Office, CPIMS+, Kobo

• Ability to work in unstable, uncertain or potentially dangerous environments, independently and in a team.

• Quality monitoring and reporting

• Strong facilitation and organizational skills;

• Motivated-and able to work in a team.

• Excellent communication skills including active listening.

• Willingness to work in Palestinian camps
