Terre des hommes - Lausanne is seeking a qualified Senior GBV Case Worker based in Tyre or surroundings for one of its projects in the South.
Job Purpose/ Main Functions:
The Senior Focused Psychosocial Support (FPSS) Facilitator will oversee the implementation of focused psychosocial support activities for children at medium to high risk and their caregivers, both within Tdh and in collaboration with local partners. This position will ensure that all focused PSS activities align with organizational and interagency guidelines and will be a central figure in building resilience and enhancing the well-being of vulnerable children, youth at risk, and their caregivers.
The Senior FPSS Facilitator will be responsible for ensuring that all activities have a positive and lasting impact on children, youth, and caregivers, promoting their emotional, psychological, and social well-being, while also enhancing the parenting skills of caregivers.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the development and implementation of age-appropriate psychosocial activities for children at medium to high risk and their caregivers, ensuring that interventions foster resilience, promote well-being, and enhance caregivers' parenting skills.
Ensure all focused PSS activities are non-discriminatory, age-sensitive, and gender-sensitive, in line with best practices and established guidelines.
Facilitate the active participation of children and youth in psychosocial activities, creating a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment in which they feel supported and empowered.
Contribute to monitoring and evaluation (M&E) efforts, tracking the effectiveness and outcomes of activities, and ensuring alignment with protection goals and objectives.
Ensure that children and youth consistently feel safe, respected, and emotionally secure throughout their participation in the program.
The Senior FPSS Facilitator will be integral in ensuring the quality, consistency, and positive impact of child protection and psychosocial support activities, playing a key role in the emotional and psychological recovery and empowerment of vulnerable children and youth.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Planning and Implementation of Activities:
Volunteer Support and Management: Support the volunteer team in mapping and assessing children to attend focused PSS activities. Ensure proper follow-up on HR-related matters concerning volunteers, including performance and development.
Needs Assessment and Program Design: Assess the specific needs and challenges faced by children and develop tailored PSS interventions to address these issues. Register and enroll children in the PSS program, ensuring their inclusion in all relevant activities.
Activity Planning and Execution: Plan, organize, and facilitate activities for children, ensuring that all children are encouraged to participate. Develop action plans for PSS activities based on a group intervention approach, aligning with identified needs. Ensure activities are carried out on time and in line with the project objectives.
Behavior Management: Address challenging behaviors (e.g., conflict, aggression, introversion) by understanding the underlying causes and applying appropriate communication techniques to manage and resolve conflicts positively.
Child Protection and Well-being: Ensure that children under your responsibility are not exposed to any form of harm, stress, or abuse during activities. Create a safe and supportive environment for all children involved.
Participation and Inclusion: Promote and encourage the participation of children in all activities, ensuring that their voices are heard and respected.
Logistics and Coordination: Ensure that all activities are held in appropriate, child-friendly locations
that meet minimum safety standards. Follow up on transportation schedules, coordinating with transport providers and other partners regarding the bus schedule and mapping routes within the operational area.
Documentation and Reporting: Document feedback from activities and provide regular progress reports to the project manager on the development of children and youth, highlighting any challenges or successes.
Ensure that feedback from caregivers and children is collected and used to improve future sessions.
Material Planning and Resource Management: Plan and organize the required materials and resources for interventions, ensuring that the necessary support is provided for each session. Ensure materials are used appropriately and stored safely.
Referral: Ensure that children who require specific CP concerns are referred to the appropriate internal case management services, in line with Tdh’s protocols.
PSS Methodology and M&E Development: Assist in the development and refinement of new PSS methodologies and M&E tools in coordination with the Senior Technical Program Officer. Review and adjust PSS tools to ensure they are relevant, up-to-date, and in line withTdh and Inter-Agency guidelines.
Reporting
Regularly provide field reports, protection monitoring reports, and reports related to project progress to your line manager.
Assist in analyzing the data collected and reports both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Provide information about progress when required.
Report and support the constant evaluation process about the impact of activities on children/youth.
Ensure a daily proper recording of data (# of children, youth, adults participating, activities delivered, etc).
Provide official and on-time reports for any security and safety incidents.
Communication and Coordination
Keep close coordination and update with the caseworkers and the psychologist.
Contribute to creating a positive atmosphere by interacting constructively with colleagues and children/youth and caregivers
Communicate efficiently with the technical team and managers conveying to them ideas and new proposals according to daily observation in dealing with children.
Participate in donor visits and promote proper preparation and implementation.
Communicate with the stakeholders, partners, and municipalities through regular visits.
Organisational Policies
Respect the Tdh Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP) and its principles of child protection, ensuring it’s the policy’s implementation and prompt notification of the CSP Focal Point with any information regarding potential breaches of the policy;
Is aware of, abides by, and promotes the practices and values set out in all other Tdh policies and procedures such as the Internal regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, and other policies.
Undertake all other duties that may be requested by the line manager and that are compatible with the job.
Participate actively in weekly and monthly coordination meetings with the line managers.
Ensure Do No Harm analyses are carried out and the principle of Do No Harm is observed and upheld in all the engagements of the FPSS Facilitator.

Support the other teams and his/her line manager
Undertake all other duties that may be requested by the line manager and that are compatible with the job.
Job Requirements:
Academic Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or Sociology.
Experience:
At least 3–5 years of experience in focused psychosocial support (FPSS), child protection, or mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).
Previous experience in facilitating FPSS activities for children, youth, and caregivers in humanitarian or development settings.
Experience working with children at medium to high risk, including street-connected children, refugees, and other vulnerable groups.
Previous experience in supervising, mentoring, or training FPSS facilitators, volunteers, or social workers.
Experience in capacity-building of staff and local partners in psychosocial support methodologies.

Other Skills:
Strong understanding of child protection principles, psychological first aid (PFA), and inter-agency MHPSS guidelines.
Experience with group intervention approaches for FPSS, including structured and semi-structured PSS curricula.
Familiarity with behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors in children and youth.
Knowledge of community-based child protection and safeguarding frameworks.
Experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring FPSS interventions.
Ability to track the progress and effectiveness of psychosocial activities using M&E tools and case documentation.
