About the role:

The Senior Corporate Communications Officer will play a vital role in managing and strengthening Jo Academy’s corporate image and reputation. This position is responsible for shaping our narrative across external channels, driving impactful public relations initiatives, and ensuring consistent and professional communication that supports Jo Academy’s mission and growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communication strategies that reinforce Jo Academy’s brand and reputation.
  • Lead external communications efforts, including press releases, media briefings, digital content, and corporate announcements.
  • Manage public relations activities: build and maintain strong relationships with media, coordinate interviews, and oversee press events.
  • Review, evaluate, and coordinate sponsorship requests and manage ongoing corporate partnerships.
  • Oversee Jo Academy’s presence across social media platforms, website, and digital channels to ensure consistent brand voice.
  • Monitor communication activities, track media coverage, and prepare reports with insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Provide support for crisis communication planning and execution when needed.
  • Collaborate closely with academic and administrative teams to ensure alignment in messaging across the organization.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 4–7 years of professional experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats.
  • Proven media relations experience: press engagement, media monitoring, and relationship building.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management and CMS tools; familiarity with design/publishing tools (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop) is a plus.
  • Experience in sponsorships, partnerships, and stakeholder management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of crisis communication and brand management concepts.
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to represent Jo Academy professionally.
