Terre des hommes - Lausanne is seeking Two qualified CP FPSS Facilitators based in Bekaa (Baalbek and Hermel districts).

Job Purpose / Main Functions:

The CP FPSS/MHPSS Facilitator possesses the knowledge and practical skills to deliver focused psychosocial support activities for children and caregivers at high risk of vulnerability. FPSS activities will be implemented in accordance with organizational and interagency guidelines. This role aims to strengthen the resilience of the most vulnerable and conflict-affected children, youth and caregivers through psychosocial support interventions. The FPSS/MHPSS Facilitator carries out activities in a way that promotes the well-being of children, youth and caregivers and creates a meaningful, positive impact on their lives.

The aims of the position are to:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate psychosocial activities for children, youth, and caregivers.

• Strengthen and enhance the resilience and well-being of children and caregivers at risk.

• Ensure that all beneficiaries participate in activities that are non-discriminatory, and age- and gender-appropriate.

• Provide parents and caregivers with regular feedback on their child’s participation in sessions.

• Collaborate closely with CP team members to design interventions, develop plans, and conduct follow-ups.

• Ensure that children, youth, and caregivers always feel safe, comfortable, and respected.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Planning and Implementation of Activities:

 • Assess the key needs and challenges faced by the targeted groups of children and caregivers.

• Register and enroll children in FPSS activities and caregivers in MHPSS activities.

• Plan, organize, and facilitate activities with children and caregivers, ensuring inclusive participation.

• Develop an action plan for FPSS activities, topics, and interventions based on a group intervention approach.

• Ensure timely implementation of activities to support the successful delivery of the project.

• Conduct sessions regularly and evaluate each one with children and caregivers.

• Revise and adapt sessions based on feedback and evaluations to ensure continuous improvement.

• Address difficult behaviors (e.g., conflict, aggression, introversion) by understanding underlying causes and responding with positive communication.

• Ensure that children and caregivers under their responsibility are not exposed to harm or stress during activities.

• Promote and ensure active participation of children and caregivers in all activities.

• Ensure all activities are conducted in appropriate, child-friendly locations that meet minimum standards.

• Ensure activities take place in clean, safe, and hazard-free environments.

• Document feedback and submit regular monitoring reports to the Project Manager on the progress of children, youth, and caregivers.

• Provide parents and caregivers with regular updates and advice on their children’s progress and engagement.

• Ensure all children and caregivers are aware of existing accountability and complaint mechanisms.

• Plan and identify weekly material needs and other support required for interventions.

• Refer beneficiaries requiring specific medical or nutritional care to the case management department.

• Support the development of new PSS methodologies and PSS M&E tools in coordination with the Senior Technical Program Officer.

• Review and update PSS tools to ensure relevance, accuracy, and alignment with Tdh and Inter-Agency guidelines.

• Recommend session and exercise modifications to adapt to evolving needs and feedback from caregivers and children.

• Represent Tdh in relevant MHPSS trainings and during field visits with donors and line managers.

• Contribute to identifying and packaging PSS advocacy issues.

• Prepare all materials and logistics for activities in advance, ensuring attention to detail.

• Help ensure that materials are used appropriately and stored safely at the end of the day.

• Establish an intervention calendar/agenda for each group of children, youth or caregivers.

• Identify children and caregivers at risk of harm and refer them according to Tdh procedures.

• Verify beneficiary lists and attendance.

• Help disseminate information to the community and beneficiaries, guiding them on available services and maintaining positive relationships.

• Attend weekly, monthly, and ad hoc team meetings.

• Ensure the correct use of guidelines, tools, materials, and games as agreed with the technical team.

• Ensure the effective inclusion of children and caregivers with disabilities in PSS activities.

Reporting:

• Provide regular field reports, protection monitoring reports, and project progress updates to the line manager.

• Assist in analyzing collected data and reports, both quantitatively and qualitatively.

• Provide timely information on progress when requested.

• Report on and support ongoing evaluation processes assessing the impact of activities on children, youth and caregivers.

• Ensure accurate daily recording of data (e.g., number of children, youth, and adults participating; activities delivered; etc.).

• Submit official and timely reports regarding any security or safety incidents.

Communication and Coordination:

• Maintain close coordination and regular updates with caseworkers.

• Contribute to a positive working atmosphere by interacting constructively with colleagues, children, youth, and caregivers.

• Communicate effectively with the technical team and managers, sharing ideas and proposals based on daily observations with children and caregivers.

• Participate in donor visits and support proper preparation and implementation.

• Engage with stakeholders, partners, and municipalities through regular field visits.

Organisational Policies:

• Adhere to Tdh’s Global Code of Conduct (GCD), Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Policy, and Gender and Diversity Policy and its principles of child protection, ensuring these principles are upheld and promptly notifying the CSP/PSEA Focal Point of any potential breaches.

• Remain aware of, comply with, and promote the practices and values outlined in all other Tdh policies and procedures, including Internal Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, and related policies.

• Actively participate in weekly and monthly coordination meetings with the line manager.

• Ensure that Do No Harm analyses are conducted and that the Do No Harm principle is upheld in all FPSS Facilitator engagements.

Other:

• Provide support to other teams and to the line manager as needed.

• Perform any other duties requested by the line manager that are aligned with the role and its responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

• Academic Background:

o A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Sociology…) is required. A Master’s degree is a plus but not mandatory.

o Only candidates with directly related and relevant educational backgrounds will be considered eligible for the recruitment process for this position.

• Experience:

o At least 2 years of relevant experience working with children and caregivers, preferably with high-risk children and/or refugee or other vulnerable populations. Experience with an INGO is preferred.

• Technical Competencies:

o Strong knowledge of CP and GBV principles and practices.

o Experience working with children, adolescents, youth, caregivers, and families from diverse backgrounds.

o Skills in quality assurance, monitoring, and reporting.

o Ability to contribute to innovation and development initiatives.

o Proficiency in computer applications and tools.

o Respect for and adherence to the institutional framework and organizational policies.

• Other Skills:
