GBV PSS Facilitator- South(Saida and Jezzine)

Job Purpose / Main Functions:

The GBV Psychosocial Support Facilitator has the knowledge and practical skills to carry out GBV psychosocial support activities with children at high risk of vulnerability inside and outside of collective shelters, to support the ongoing emergency response

The GBV PSS Facilitator will conduct GBV activities inside and outside of the collective shelters, support in awareness raising, Safe identification and referrals of high-risk children, and support in distribution as needed.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Implementation of Activities

• Support the volunteer team (in case present) in mapping and assessing children to attend GBV PSS activities.

• Follow up on the HR matters related to the volunteers with support of the project manager.

• Plan, organize, and run activities with children while facilitating and encouraging the participation of all children, including children with disabilities and special needs.

• Develop an action plan for GBV PSS activities, topics, and other types of interventions, including volunteers.

• With the technical officer, revise sessions according to each feedback/evaluation and constantly adapt approaches and exercises

• Ensure children are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activities.

• Support the distribution of hygiene kits and other NFIs in line with emergency response requirements.

• Document all necessary feedback and provide regular monitoring reports to the project manager on the context and general needs.

• Ensure that parents receive regular feedback and advice on their children's progress and interaction.

• Suggest modifications of sessions and exercises to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment, based on the feedback of the caregivers and children.

• Be able to identify children at risk of GBV and harm, and being able to refer them as per the Tdh procedures.

Reporting

• Provide field reports, protection monitoring reports, and reports related to project progress to your line manager and MEAL teams.

• Provide information about progress when required.

• Ensure a daily proper recording of data (# of children, youth, adults participating, activities delivered, etc).

• Provide official and on-time reports for any security and safety incidents.

Communication and Coordination

• Contribute to creating a positive atmosphere by interacting constructively with colleagues and children/youth and caregivers

• Communicate efficiently with the technical team and managers conveying to them ideas and new proposals according to daily observation in dealing with children.

• Communicate with the stakeholders, partners, and municipalities through regular visits.

Organisational Policies

• Respects the Tdh’s Global Code of Conduct (GCD), Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), Prevention from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Policy (PSEA) and Policy on Gender and Diversity and its principles of child protection, ensuring the policy’s implementation and prompt notification of the CSP/PSEA Focal Point with any information regarding potential breachs of the policy.

• Is aware of, abides by and promotes the practices and values set out in all other Tdh policies and procedures such as the Internal Regualtions, Standard Operating Procedures and other policies.

• Participate actively in weekly and monthly coordination meetings with the line managers.

• Ensure that the principle of Do No Harm is observed and upheld in all the engagements of the FPSS Facilitator.

Other

• Support the other teams and their line manager

• Undertake all other duties that may be requested by the line manager and that are compatible with the job.

Job Requirements:

• Academic Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Social work, Specialized Education, Psychology or Sociology.

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with children and preferably high-risk children and/or refugees/ vulnerable populations.

• Technical Competencies:

o Good Knowledge in Child Protection and GBV.

o Able to deal with Youth from different backgrounds

o Quality, montoring and reporting

o Respect for the institutional framework

• Other Skills:

o Strong facilitation and organizational skills;

o Motivated-and ability to work in a team.

o Strong interpersonal skills.

o Excellent communication skills (including active listening).

o Fluency in Arabic; English Language skills (not mandatory)

o Microsoft Office skills
