Terre des hommes - Lausanne is seeking a qualified CP Case worker based in Bekaa (Baalbek and Hermel districts).
Job Purpose / Main Functions:
In local contexts, the CP Case Worker engages with the most vulnerable and conflict-affected children, youth, families, and their social environment through a holistic approach in order to:
• Provide individual case management for CP cases in line with all case management steps, tools, and procedures.
• Offer ongoing support to families, caregivers, and foster or alternative care systems.
• Liaise directly with other service providers operating in the targeted communities and facilitate referrals to services such as health (including mental health), shelter, NFIs, and others.
• Communicate effectively with other caseworkers and service providers as part of implementing individual CP case management.
• Ensure adherence to Survivor-Centered Approach guiding principles when working with survivors, including in CDCs and safe spaces for women and girls.
Through an ethical and participatory approach, the CP Case Worker helps create conditions that enable children, youth, and their families to be active agents in their development, strengthen social ties and community solidarity, and enhance resilience.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Case Management:
• Identify individual CP cases through regular community presence and accept referrals from other agencies and community partners.
• Conduct initial (rapid) assessments for CP cases and prioritize them based on risk level.
• Develop case plans that respond to the needs identified in initial and comprehensive assessments, seeking supervisor support when necessary.
• Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure all services and action points in the case plan are completed within agreed timelines, and ensure progress is consistently reviewed.
• Monitor and support CP cases through regular home visits, providing guidance, advice, emotional support, community mediation, and referrals as needed.
• Collaborate with supervisors and managers to organize CP case conferences for complex cases and ensure children receive multidisciplinary support.
• Manage cases in accordance with CP Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) and inter-agency guidelines, adhering to standard documentation requirements and best-practice guidance.
• Apply National SoPs for case management, including the use of Best Interests Assessments (BiA) and Best Interests Determination (BiD) procedures when required.
• Ensure Do No Harm analyses are conducted and that the Do No Harm principle is upheld in all CP Case Worker engagements.
Data Management:
• Regularly document cases using case notes and other approved forms.
• Update databases/CPIMS+ to ensure comprehensive and accurate case records.
• Ensure all data collection and storage comply with data protection protocols and confidentiality principles.
• Provide regular field reports, protection monitoring reports, and project progress updates to the line manager.
Coordination and representation:
• Communicate effectively with other caseworkers and service providers to advocate, collaborate, and facilitate referrals in the best interests of children.
• Regularly attend CP case management meetings and relevant case conferences at the field level.
• Collaborate closely with the CP case management team as well as other Child Protection team members to ensure smooth coordination and effective referrals.
Organizational Policies:
• Adhere to Tdh’s Global Code of Conduct (GCD), Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Policy, and Gender and Diversity Policy and its principles of child protection, ensuring these principles are upheld and promptly notifying the CSP/PSEA Focal Point of any potential breaches.
• Remain aware of, comply with, and promote the practices and values outlined in all other Tdh policies and procedures, including Internal Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, and related policies.
• Actively participate in weekly and monthly coordination meetings with the line manager.
Other:
• Provide support to other teams and to the line manager as needed.
• Perform any other duties requested by the line manager that are aligned with the role and its responsibilities.
Job Requirements:
• Academic Background:
o A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work…) is required. A Master’s degree is a plus but not mandatory.
o Only candidates with directly related and relevant educational backgrounds will be considered eligible for the recruitment process for this position.
• Experience:
o At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably with an INGO.
• Technical Competencies:
o Strong knowledge of CP and GBV principles and practices.
o Experience working with children, adolescents, youth, caregivers, and families from diverse backgrounds.
o Skills in quality assurance, monitoring, and reporting.
o Ability to contribute to innovation and development initiatives.
o Proficiency in computer applications and tools.
o Respect for and adherence to the institutional framework and organizational policies.
• Other Skills:

o Ability to manage oneself effectively and work independently.
