Terre des hommes - Lausanne is a seeking a qualified Part Time Logistics Clerk/Driver (4 days per week) for its South base to ensure safe and efficient transport of personnel, equipment, and materials for Terre des hommes (Tdh) in the South, while supporting logistics operations. 


Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Supply Chain & Warehouse Support:

• Receive, inspect, and store incoming stock and supplies at the base level in line with Tdh procedures.

• Maintain accurate inventory and assist in stocktaking as requested by the Senior Logistics and Security Manager and Logistics assistant.

• Support the logistics team in processing purchase requests, collecting quotations, and conducting supplier follow-ups when required.

• Assist in dispatching supplies and equipment to project sites, ensuring documentation is completed and validated.

• Report any discrepancies or stock issues to the Logistics Assistant.


Fleet Management & Vehicle Operations:

• Drive staff and transport equipment safely according to the fleet management policy.

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections (fuel, tires, oil, brakes, and general condition) and report any maintenance needs to the Head of Office and Logistics Assistant.

• Ensure cleanliness, fueling, and routine maintenance of Tdh vehicles in the Southern fleet.

• Support the fleet assistant in preparing the daily movement plan for field operations in the South.

• Report immediately any accident, damage, or incident involving a Tdh vehicle.


Equipment & Inventory:

• Assist in the safe and timely transportation of office and field equipment.

• Assist in issuing and receiving equipment for new or departing staff.

• Assist in Ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly and report maintenance needs to the line manager.


Facility & Office Support:

• Assist the Logistics Department with office and facility management tasks in the South.

• Follow up on monthly utilities and payments (internet, electricity, building fees).

• Provide support in ICT-related tasks if required.


Information & Communications Technology:

• Assist Logistics Departement with ICT duties if needed.


General :

• Promote clear and positive communication among department and delegation members.

• Maintain a high level of professionalism, punctuality, and responsibility when operating Tdh vehicles and performing logistics tasks.

• Support accurate recordkeeping and reporting as required by the Senior Logistics and Security Manager.

• Undertake other duties compatible with the role as requested by his line Manager.


Organisational Policies:

• Respects the Tdh Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP) and its principles of child protection, ensuring the policy’s implementation and prompt notification of the CSP Focal Point with any information regarding potential breachs of the policy;

• Is aware of, abides by and promotes the practices and values set out in all other Tdh policies and procedures such as the Internal Regualtions, Standard Operating Procedures and other policies.

• Undertake all other duties that may be requested by the line-manager and that are compatible with the job.


Job Requirements:

• Academic Background: Minimum secondary school diploma (high school) or equivalent.

• skills required for inventory management and reporting.

• Experience in a humanitarian or INGO setting is required.

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar position, logistics assistant and/or warehouse clerk.

• Experience in handling vehicles, performing routine maintenance, and managing stock in a warehouse setting.


• Technical Competencies:

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety protocols, and fleet management.

• Basic understanding of stock management, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes.

• Ability to use office equipment (phone, fax, printer) and basic computer applications (Excel, Word).

• Knowledge of ICT support basics is an advantage.


• Other Skills:

Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with staff and suppliers.

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Awareness of child safeguarding principles and organizational policies.
