DFS Aviation Services are currently looking for an ATES Training Specialist to join our team in Dubai, whereby they will develop, deliver and maintain training courses for various departments including Communications, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS)/Air Traffic Management Services (ATMS) personnel to support in project delivery and business strategy goals.

This role will be based in Dans Training Facility (DTF) and reporting to the ATES Training Team Leader. Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans) provides air navigation services at four airports in the UAE, one of which is the world's busiest airport for international passengers, where their mission is to empower and develop all their people in delivering world-leading air navigation services that exceed every standard, assure their customers, and shape global innovation.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure all ATES training complies with applicable timeframes, dans, and Civil Aviation Authority Regulations (CARs) and prescribed quality standards
  • Conduct numerous other training related activities including On the Job Training Instruction (OJTI) in both ‘Off Air’ and Live environment and conduct OJTI Assessments of ATES OJTIs to ensure ongoing competency.
  • Required to supervise trainees whilst undergoing UTP training courses.
  • Design, implement and maintain technical training courses, from their inception to completion, under the guidance of the Team Leader (TL) ATES Training, based on dans Operational Training Department standards, GCAA CARs Requirements and ICAO recommendations.
  • Attain and maintain the following certifications: Air Traffic Services Instructor (ATSI), On the Job Training Instructor (OJTI) and Competency Assessor (CA).
  • Conduct assessments as required to ensure ATES staff meet the performance criteria stated in all training programmes.

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years practical experience of operational work preferably in a multi-cultural organization from the aviation industry or military equivalent.
  • Experience working in CNS / ATM systems.
  • Experience of working within a Safety Management System.
  • Post secondary engineering qualification in electronics or networking.
  • Background in operating systems (such as Linux) is a plus.
  • Ideally 3 years of experience in the preparation, delivery, and follow-up of training programs.
  • In depth knowledge of ICAO standards (including ICAO Doc10057), recommended practices local and international technical standards and regulations, is an advantage.
  • Qualified in Classroom Instructional Techniques is preferable.
  • Ideally completed four of the recognized basic courses of Communications, Surveillance, Navigation and Data Processing.
