Terre des hommes Lausanne is seeking a qualified Emergency Team Leader for the Emergency projects in Beirut Mount Lebanon Areas.
The Emergency Team Leader is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing emergency response projects and initiatives aimed at addressing urgent needs during crises, disasters, or humanitarian emergencies. The Emergency Team Leader plays a critical role in providing essential aid and support to affected individuals and communities.
Main tasks:
1) Represents Tdh at local level
• Participates in key meetings in relation to the emergency
• Coordinate with the governorate and municipal level governmental authorities (DRM , Governor, Line departments , district administration etc ) for project updates, reports etc
2) Is responsible for liaising with the Security Officer regarding movements of the team and security clearances, and ensures the operational areas and the routes are prior checked for security clearance
3) Contributes to the emergency response strategy and ensures the implementation of the emergency activities
4) Coordinates the activities among a multidisciplinary team
• Provides technical inputs / support to projects' staff in close collaboration with program manager, project managers, and operational teams.
• Organizes short morning/weekly meetings to divide the tasks et receives feedbacks on the implementation’s follow-up
• Setup a participative weekly (the 1st month) and then monthly SITREP with key datas and analysis about the progresses and impacts of activities + share with line managers.
• Supports the team on-the-job in the intervention’s areas.
• Supervises the child protection activities.
• Supports the M&E assistant on development of M&E tools for better monitoring of the outcome of the project activities.
Requirements:
• University degree in social sciences, political sciences, psychology, education, or any other related field.
• At least five years of experience at the field level with related social programs.
• Proven institutional and representation experience, including with governmental authorities.
• Previous positive experience and performance with Tdh.
• Proven experience in the corresponding area of intervention.
• Ability to work under pressure and under urgent circumstances.
• Ability to make cross-sectoral coordination and transversal coordination among projects to ensure a harmonized approach.
• Proven experience in Child Protection themes and strong knowledge of Child Protection principles and approaches.
