Terre des hommes - Lausanne is seeking a qualified Psychologist based in the South (Between Saida and Tyre), for one of its projects in the South Area.
Job Purpose / Main Functions:
• Provide MHPSS support to children exposed to or at risk of CP Set up all the activities that will contribute to a children’s growth and development and that of their families in MAKANI centers in South including Nabatiyeh.
• Provide family therapy to parents/caregivers of children exposed to or at risk of child protection.
• Make sure that the Tdh strategy and policy are implemented in her-his field.
• Responsible for conducting individual and group Support sessions for the CP-GBV cases and their caregivers when needed - relevant.
• Will be roving between static and MAKANI center in South Lebanon and will be responsible for reporting back to the Senior CP officer and the head of office in South. Responsible for referring cases that are in need of other services to the relevant focal points.
• Psychological counselling available on a one-to-one
• Have a broader understanding of the Inter-agency Standing Committee (IASC) Guidelines on MHPSS and the IASC intervention pyramid that refers to a multi-layered service
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Provision of psychosocial support:
• Provide MHPSS activities to children exposed to or at risk of CP -GBV.
• Provide Family Therapy to hildren exposed to or at risk of CP-GBV.
• Overview of case management assessments of clients to ensure qualitative reporting and analysis on a case by case basis to ensure action plan set with client is in line with protection principles.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services provided to clients, in support of quality monitoring and effective project management processes, at all times ensuring the confidentiality of clients’ identifying information.
• Participate actively in weekly team meetings in order to contribute to project planning and effective implementation.
Psychological counseling activities for the beneficiaries
• Set up effective methodological tools for the psychological assessment of children taking into account the context
• Assess and report the most serious cases which require specific actions or responses
• Implement a proper case management including partners and result based oriented
• Ensure a proper / relevant referal according to existing pathway
• Support the facilitators in organising and running dedicated activities for children, taking into account the needs of the children (recreational and sports activities, activities facilitating integration, family and community mediation, the socialisation of children with specific needs, etc.)
• Participate / provide technical support in formulating sensitive themes and support strategies for children exposed to or at risk of CP-GBV.
• Provide targeted/focused psychological consultations to more severe cases
• Participate in training activities
• Provide supervision to trained FPSS facilitators
Data management and reporting:
• Manage, file and store data, ensuring the confidentiality of the information collected and the services provided.
• Support implementation of monitoring and evaluation exercises, when required, in order to understand project impacts and outcomes, and report challenges encountered in the implementation of the project.
• Share and, if necessary, create planning, monitoring and evaluation tools which can be adapted to different projects
• Participate in preparation of internal and external reports, as required.
• Draw up the monthly and annual activity reports
• Provide an analysis and follow-up of the outcomes of the intervention projects with suggestions for adjustment where necessary.
• Participate in data collection and reporting
Coordination and representation
• Establish a service mapping and ensure a relevant and regular follow-up including all actors of the area of intervention.
• Coordinate with other service providers in order to ensure the access of individuals to services.
• Support timely information sharing regarding challenges and needs at the field level
Representation / Networking:
• Identify positive and innovative experiences in the zones and share them with his/her peers and line managers
• In general, make sure that a positive and professional image of the Foundation is conveyed. In particular, ensure that the Foundation's mandate, ethics, values and views are followed in relation to third parties.
• Represent Tdh at strategic meetings in his/her field of intervention
• Work with the government structures and other players involved in his/her field of intervention
• Initiate and develop a relational network with the other NGOs which operate in the same field of activity
Collaboration with Management
• Communicate and collaborate in accordance with the communication contract and participate in implementing it
• Exchange information with his/her line manager on a regular basis and assist with circulating information following normal communication channels
• Participate in technical manager meetings.
• Develop with the project team an outreach strategy and clear internal and external referral pathway. Bring forward proposals in his/her field of activity
Administration / logistics and recovery services:
• Carry out all the administrative activities relevant to his/her mission
• Adhere to and enforce current administrative and logistical regulations and procedures.
Organisational Policies:
• Respects the Tdh’s Global Code of Conduct (GCD), Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), Prevention from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Policy (PSEA) and Policy on Gender and Diversity and its principles of child protection, ensuring the policy’s implementation and prompt notification of the CSP/PSEA Focal Point with any information regarding potential breachs of the policy.
• Is aware of, abides by and promotes the practices and values set out in all other Tdh policies and procedures such as the Internal Regualtions, Standard Operating Procedures and other policies.
• Report any breach observed in the framework of this policy during his/her professional activities both as regards the proven or suspected offence and a preventive breach.
Other:
• Undertake all other duties that may be requested by the line-manager and that are compatible with the job and within her capacity.
• Emergency Response & Flexibility:
The psychologist must be available to respond to emergencies as required and provide psychological support in urgent situations. Given the nature of the role, flexibility in working hours and location is expected to adapt to emergency contexts and evolving needs.
Job requirements:
Academic Background: Degree in Psychology or counselling with psychotherapy, clinical and or
counselling psychology. Experience in working with children and youth. MA in Clinical Psychology
A completed clinical training/practicum in a university centre consisting of at least 100 hours of training under supervision, and 300 hours of applied training.
Candidate must have:
o Lebanese colloquium certificate for clinical psychologists
o License to practice the clinical psychology profession from the Ministry of Public Health
N.B: A letter of recommendation from a senior clinical psychologist supervisor (holder of a doctorate and/or a scholar) and membership in one of the registered psychological
associations of Lebanon is preferable.
Experience:
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in NGO or relevant work experience in psychosocial support/psychology, in clinical and/or direct practice settings.
• Experience in clinical supervision, training and or coaching others.
• Experience in assessment process , program design, evaluation and technical training as well as supervision
• Solid understanding of protection principles, case management and survivor-centered care in humanitarian settings

• Monitoring and evaluating the psychological progress of the client
• Experience providing clinical supervision or leading trainings is a plus
