Terre des hommes - Lausanne is seeking Four qualified CBPSS Volunteers based in Zahle and surroundings.
Job Purpose/ Main Functions:
The CBPSS Volunteer must have the knowledge, experience, and practical skills to conduct psychosocial support, awareness, and positive parenting sessions with children, girls, and caregivers at risk of vulnerability.
This position aims to strengthen the resilience of the most vulnerable children and caregivers through structured psychosocial support activities. By facilitating these sessions, the CBPSS Volunteer plays a vital role in promoting well-being, empowerment, and capacity-building. Through CP-GBV sessions, they enhance participants' knowledge, skills, and awareness, fostering a lasting positive impact.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct outreach and identify beneficiaries on a quarterly basis.
Facilitate CBPSS and Positive Parenting sessions for beneficiaries.
Ensure the active participation and commitment of girls in the sessions.
Record attendance for all participants during sessions.
Complete and submit required monitoring tools and reports for each session.
Identify and safely refer children and caregivers with protection concerns to the appropriate team (including child protection, formal education, WASH, health, etc.).
Strengthen and enhance the resilience and well-being of children and caregivers at risk.
Ensure that all activities are inclusive, non-discriminatory, and age- and gender-sensitive.
Maintain a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for children and caregivers at all times.
Uphold child safeguarding measures and ensure the protection of participants during sessions.
Ensure that the safe space is welcoming and supportive for girls.
Report challenges, best practices, and lessons learned throughout the project.
Attend mandatory training sessions, including PSEA, safeguarding, referral mechanisms, and other relevant topics.
Skills:
The CBPSS Volunteer must have strong knowledge of and familiarity with the target areas, including local community dynamics, population habits and behaviors, key public and private stakeholders, community focal points or leaders, and the concentration of vulnerable populations in specific areas.
Preferably, the CBPSS Volunteer should reside near the center/location where the classes or sessions are conducted.
Communication skills: The CBPSS Volunteer should be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, clearly articulate information, actively listen, and establish positive relationships built on trust with individuals at all levels.
Planning skills: The CBPSS Volunteer should be able to develop and adhere to a structured plan, work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Social awareness: The CBPSS Volunteer should have a strong understanding of the socio-economic context of the area and how it may impact children's and caregivers' enrollment in and attendance of classes or sessions.
